That's right. Dippers, Liberals, Greens, marxists, communists, unionists, human rights advocates, some closet Conservatives and independents like myself marching side by side can't be called non-partisan because the rallies were in part organized by persons who are or were involved in various political parties.
Maybe it's a question of definition? Let's see. What does 'non-partisan' mean?
A person or group that is non-partisan does not support or help a particular political party or group.
So, if various partisans and non-partisans come together under a common cause which does not support a particular party or group, that's a non-partisan gathering, right?
So we see there an entire web site based upon a false premise. Surprise.
Actually, the whole idea that this matters is an insult to Canadians. For all of us who attended, we attended because we had something important to say, not because of the various political affiliations of many of the organizers.
If discovery of partisans is supposed to diminish a cause, well, where does that place the Rally 'Facts' site? The anonymous and hypocritical cowards behind it are most certainly conservatives.
Anyway, tired of fighting with all the CAPPers, the Rally 'Facts' people shut down the comments. What's there is a fun read.

Even if you want to quibble about definitions what difference does it make if it's non-partisan or multi-partisan, including Conservatives. It still means Canadians want their democracy back.
It was indeed fun to follow... while it lasted. I stumbled upon the thing through a Conservative blog - one of a surprisingly small number that took notice. Still, the anti-CAPP people were out there in full force when it came to submitting comments. They were joined increasingly by those who had actually attended the rallies.
This included pesky people, such as myself, who dared point out that a group so intent on exposing the politics and background of others had chosen to remain anonymous.
And so, just when the tide seemed to turn, all comments were shut down.
A faceless member of the group writes "weeding out the juvenile, name-calling, and even racist comments is proving to be too much of a hassle", moments after allowing final posts from "Shawn", who describes those writing in defence of the rallies as "completely mental", "fools" and people who are growing "dumber and dumber".
Good one, Mark! Those people were so transparently "partisan"!
Interesting to hear that the group has shut down their comments. So much for wanting to hear the views of ordinary Canadians, eh?
As I pointed out to a blogger who'd taken up this meme early, of course there are going to be partisan people attending these things. My question is, so what?
Really, you have an individual who cares enough to become a partisan, encountering a rally on an issue that he cares strongly about. What's he supposed to do? Now that he's partisan, is he supposed to suppress what he feels and stay away, to spare the rally of his partisan taint? That's silly.
