Personally, I'm extremely troubled by this decision.
Provided that people post links back to the CBC -- and I know that not everyone does -- the CBC actually benefits from bloggers using their articles as source material.
They don't only benefit from the exposure, but they also profit from the additional advertising dollars they can command at their website.
This may have been a well-rationalized decision, but not rational by any means.
