Gee, is Monte a bit biased?

The protest today in Ottawa brought some 3000 protestors.

Former Conservative MP Monte Solberg thinks this invalidates the anti-prorogation movement:
Despite being shamelessley promoted by big newspapers, TV outlets and the opposition parties, a grand total of 3,000 showed up on Parliament Hill to protest the alleged end of democracy in Canada.

The anti-coalition protest last year in Ottawa also attracted 3,000 protestors.

Solberg was a speaker last year at an anti-coalition rally, and thought they were just all swell.

So, Monte, are you lying about the significance of  last year's protest, or this year's?

(Groan!) Typical neo-con. What's good for the goose, isn't always good for the gander in their world.

Me detects sour grapes on the neocons.

We may have gotten Canada's attention: We must continue the momentum.

The Globe and Mail ran a front page editorial on it. First one in decades.

But the Globe has been on Harper about his tendencies even while endorsing him, and all but asked for his resignation last year. I think they may be switching endorsements now.

Is the media coverage fair? As a rule, it rarely is anyway. It's one of those largely uncontrollable variables. People complaining over it need to move one, and look for root issues and deal with them.

For example, how much do people bellyache over Fox News? Does it solve anything?

Great way to drop the gauntlet Mark.

And I think that CK is right when she believes we're hearing a lot of sour grapes from Harper's "grassroots".

Downplaying the attendance is what they'll do to play damage control - combine that with the "spontaneity" of the anti-coalition rallies last year that, while drawing smaller crowds (significantly smaller in communities like Waterloo, Hamilton, Regina, etc) were more robust considering the short timeline they were working with and the bad weather.

To which I reply: Bullshit!

Christian Conservative is just one of many scumbags who showed up, snapped some pictures, kept his mouth shut, and then chortled today about how the rally had a "low turnout" and was a "flop" all together.

3 brave CPC supporters came to the Regina rally with posters saying they supported Stephen Harper, even though they were outnumbered roughly 125:1.

Last election, LPC supporters stayed at home disillusioned with Dion. Next election, I'd bet the shoe will be on the CPC foot if these rallies and un-opposition to the CAPP group continue to speak about the state of the Canadian electorate.
